Maintenance

ANNUAL MAINTENANCE

Most of the electrical maintenance is based on monitoring the condition of the equipment, performing condition-based maintenance, and, occasionally, predictive maintenance. These are some techniques that you can apply:

  • Preventive maintenance – includes tests of the relay, circuit breaker, alternating current (AC), high voltage direct current (DC), and battery charge, among others.
  • Predictive maintenance – namely infrared tests, to analyze emissivity and reflectivity, and temperature analysis.
  • Failure finding maintenance – maintenance to try to find flaws in safety and backup systems, such as generators.
  • Reactive (or corrective) maintenance – indicated for random breakdowns, especially in low-criticality assets.

MAINTENANCE, REPAIR, AND UPGRADE.

It includes inspecting, testing, and repairing electrical equipment as necessary to prevent problems that could lead to a loss of power or an electrical fire. For example:

  • Review of power outlets.
  • Review of electrical connections.
  • Electromechanical machines.
  • Electrical board and circuit breakers.
  • Monitoring of electrical damage.

Electrical issues are known to kill, injure, and cause property destruction if not maintained properly. The necessity for periodic inspection is noted in various regulations that deal with safety at work and at home.

MACHINE REPAIRS/FAULT FINDING.

Fault finding means the testing of the operation of electrical equipment to determine if that electrical equipment is safe and working correctly as defined in the Victorian Electricity Safety (Registration and Licensing) Regulations 2010.
What are the five steps to fault finding?

  • Observing most faults provide obvious clues as to their cause.
  • Define the problem area.
  • Identify possible causes.
  • Determine the most probable Cause.
  • Test and Repair.

EMERGENCY ELECTRICAL SERVICES.

We cover many emergency electrical services such as power outages, electrical fires, burnt outlets, short circuits, and circuit breakers, flickering lights, dead outlets & frequently tripping breakers.

WHAT TO DO IN AN ELECTRICAL EMERGENCY:

Cut the power supply, it is not enough to flip the breaker that the electrical problem is on. You absolutely must turn off power at the source, by shutting off power to the entire home at the circuit breaker box.

You should immediately call a professional electrician to come to inspect your electrical system, find the problem, and make appropriate repairs.
